FAQ

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

You do not need a doctor’s referral before having treatment but many patients come to us for treatment after recommendation from their doctors or midwives

What happens during treatment?

Your first treatment will take about an hour and starts with discussing the details of your condition or injury. The osteopath then assesses your posture, muscles, joints and soft tissues to help diagnose the possible cause of dysfunction.

Treatment will involve stretching, moving and mobilising the skeleton and soft tissues and may also use acupuncture if appropriate.

At the end of the session, your osteopath will advise you of stretches and exercises to do at home

What shall I bring?

You need to bring details of any medication you are currently taking.

If you wear any orthotics or specialist insoles, please bring these with you

What shall I wear?

You might be required to undress partially, so you may prefer to bring some shorts or wear comfortable undergarments

How many times do I need to see you?

This depends on the individual being treated, but on average for six sessions, usually one to two weeks apart.

How long do treatments take?

Your first treatment will take one hour. Follow up treatments will take 30-45 minutes.

How can I pay?

We accept cash and cheques.
